What Is Red Light Therapy

I started this website because I wanted other people to benefit, as I have, from the benefits of red light therapy.  So, what is red light therapy?  It's a rapidly emerging technology with a wide range of healing benefits for the average user.  I started using it for my skin, and it helps me LOOK YEARS YOUNGER, but as the technology and science is explored more, even more benefits are being discovered.

How Does Red Light Therapy Benefit The Skin?

It's long been known that exposure to the sun can help with a variety of skin ailments, but also cause some.  With red light therapy, only a certain spectrum of intense light is applied to the skin.  The wavelength of the light makes it able to penetrate deeply into the skin, which causes the release of chemicals called cytokines, which in turn active fibroblasts.  The fibroblasts are responsible for producing collagen, which helps your skin to heal and become plumper, smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles.

The red light, as well as the heat it gives off, helps stimulate circulation, brining blood and nutrients to the treated area, which aids further in the healing and rejuvenation process.  It stimulates immune cells and helps active adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in the muscle tissues, which actually creates more energy for the body to use.  In addition, enzymes and elastin fibers are also produced, helping heal the skin further.

There is an ever growing number of testimonials from users of red light therapy devices designed for home use, such as the Baby Quasar, indicating the treatments are beneficial for not only smoothing out wrinkles and lines, but also dealing with acne, blemishes, and inflammation.  Numerous reports are available from users who have successfully treated rosacea, cold sores and eczema.  Research also suggests it can help with cuts, burns and bruises.

What Other Benefits Are There To Red Light Therapy?

Light therapy has been used therapeutically for years, though the research on red light therapy, specifically, is fairly new and the verdict is not entirely in, there is more and more data to suggest that red light therapy can help with issues such as depression, headaches, nervous tics and even sexual dysfunction in both men and women.  As more information is available, I'll be sure to post it!
